The AV-NS-2 is simply a 6 Port Network Switch which connects to the local network and requies a 48Vdc power supply to provide power to the Akuvox devices attached.  The difference of it being is that it has 6 ports of 2Wire Converters.  Each port gives PoE Power and Data over 2 core cables for up to 300m.  Depending upon cable type and condition.  Multiple AV-NS-2 units can be used in situations such as retrofitting in an existing apartment building enabling the use of existing wiring.

The AV-NS-2 can be connect either directly on to the LAN Network or via an uplink from the previous AV-NS-2.  Each AV-NS-2 residing on the network can link up to a further 5 AV-NS-2 units in a diasy chain fashion. Allowing 5 ports on each AV-NS-2 to be used for Akuvox devices.  The final AV-NS-2 with no uplink can power up to 6 Akuvox devices.

Optionally an AV-NC-2 single port unit can be connected to one of the 6 ports allowing for a standard ethernet device such as an Akuvox AV-R29S multi-tenant intercom unit at the entry point.
